I use a Gorilla alarm system.
I even did a review of it on sportbikes.com -
Gorilla installation on a GS (http://www.sportbikes.com/wwwthreads/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/696580/an/0/page/0#696580)

You should check out on ebay. There lot of alarms for great prices. When I was shopping for alarms there were lots around $40-60USD that were two way. You most important thing is to make sure that it's water proof and compact. I have a regular motorcycle alarm that was put out by Prestige, it's really small and it was only $80 CND. But ya, the Gorilla alarm is a great alarm and a lot of insurance company reconize it. If you are in a rush to but then ebay is the first place I would shop....
Hi everyone. Newbie here, just bought my first bike (GS500f) a couple of weeks ago. This site is awesome.
I have the same question as the original poster. I have a friend who is an expert auto alarm installer but has never done a motorcycle before. Any suggestions on where to install the main unit and the siren? Any other advice regarding alarms is also appreciated.
See here, I am Mr.7 :x :x :x :x :x :x :x
You can be Mr.8 or Mr.12 or something
I know you guys all look up to me but leave my screen name alone
I was looking at the asianwolf alarm for when I eventually get my GS, my one question... why/when/how would you use the remote start on a bike? I guess the one nice thing is if you're absolutely SURE it's in neutral, you could start it up and let it warm up on its own, without putting the key in... but that's the only thing I can think of....
Mr.7,
Are you kidding me? Why are you getting so bent out of shape that you have to send this message personally to my inbox? Are you a little brat still in high school? This forum seems to be a welcoming community but this is the response I get a for asking my first question.

dude, calm down. Mr.7 was KIDDING... it was A JOKE... try to have a little bit of a sense of humor, or you'll never survive here... also, he didn't send it directly to your inbox, it was sent, because when you posted a reply, you left checked the box that states "notify me when a reply is posted".. because that box is checked, you will get a notice whenever someone posts here... if you don't want notification, uncheck the box, but that kinda deafeats the purpose of posting here... anyway, just wanted to clarify, Mr. 7 is cool, and I'm sure Mister7 is cool too.... so let's all be adults and laugh, ok?
What are some good systems that use the two way pager system thing???
Cuz I am looking for one like that but cheap....ahhh just how I like my beer...cheap
ohhh..yeah and If anyone could recommend a good disk brake lock thing....i heard that you can get some of them that have an alarm in them....
(oppp I hear the memebers screaming....use the search)
The Xena disk lock has an alarm, that will shriek at you as you take the bike off the side-stand if you forget it. That could be a useful reminder.
Internatrix...protects my bad boy from the evil world!
I use the asianwolf X-1
it rocks and was easy to install
all you need is a multimeter, electrical tape and some
heat shrink did it in about 2 hours
I put the siren under the seat towards the grab rail
Some jokers gonna think twice about
sittin on my bike or moving it to steal my parking spot!
Cause its mofo loud! :thumb:
