Title: Speedo on '03 gsxr 1k forks
Post by: Dom on December 11, 2004, 03:22:42 PM
I recall someone saying that the speedo won't work on a fork swap with the gs.  Hmmm... I think I might either be in big trouble or I might have to mount a speedo from a bicycle.

Any tips?

the GS speedo is a mechanical one driven from the front wheel.......the gsxr is a electronic driven from the transmision....so unless you can adapt the stock gs cable to go fron the gsxr front wheel you're gonna have to use some kind of electronic speed sensor

Any ideas where I could acquire the whole kit, speedo and magnetic sensors?  I have seen people use bicycle computers but I'd rather use something thaat is motorcycle specific...ideally fitting in the original instrument hole.  I really like having an odo and trip counter.
