Title: recommended fuel line
Post by: se7enty7 on December 15, 2004, 07:00:39 PM
search for 'VW fuel" on ebay.. there's someone by the name (millerstamp? millertime?) that sells 7mm braided cloth covered fuel line.  It almost fits the gas tank.. I had to shave off some of the cloth (didn't get to the rubber..) to make them fit, and hose clamps fit barely... but they fit.

It fits very tight, don't need clamps.  Look at all the great colors that show well on these naked bikes.

If you're going to go with 1/4" line (and you don't mind BLACK) you could also get 25 feet of black neoprene fuel line (http://www.chaparral-racing.com/Chaparral/product_family.asp?family%5Fid=3323&gift=False&mscssid=AEF69324880F4102A8956BE2A0836957) for $10.99.

Or as many feet as you want of Black epichlorohydrin fuel line (http://www.chaparral-racing.com/Chaparral/product_family.asp?family%5Fid=3321&gift=False&mscssid=AEF69324880F4102A8956BE2A0836957) for $1.25 a foot.

Srinath, is THIS (http://www.chaparral-racing.com/Chaparral/product_family.asp?family%5Fid=3553&gift=False&mscssid=AEF69324880F4102A8956BE2A0836957) the kind of stuff you're talking about?  (No plasticizers, etc.)  It comes in several colors.

Srinath,
I did buy some!!  It's awesome stuff!!!  Very tough, will never harden or crack.  Good from -65 degrees to 220 degrees.  I'm not sure what it is exactly made of, I'm guessing it's vinyl.  When I get back home from Jersey tomorrow, I'll look at the packing list and see if it says.  It's pretty stiff, but pliable at the same time.  You can actually bend it almost 180 degrees without binding.

I dont think its either of the 3 ... its shiny and black ... very much like it was vinyl or plastic but its dark ... very dark, almost black, and very slightly transparent ... like you see the sun as a light yellow dot ... The neoprene line will last forever I can tell you that ... that third one ... well I might try that  ... I have been searching for that fuel line, and I suspect I put it on a bike and sold it ...
Cool.
