anybody out there know the proper headlight angle? how do i know if my headlight is adjusted right.
i put in new short signal markers and after putting everything back together the headlight beam is a tad higher than before. i tried to adjust it via the bolts on the side (as clymer's suggests) but the headlight housing ain't moving. i've discovered that my turn signal bolts are so long they are preventing the housing from tilting it downward.
so i've got some solutions: cutting down the turn signal bolt to make it shorter or using bushings or washers as spacers to pull the bolt farther away from the headlight housing to create space.
but how do i know when i've reached the proper headlight angle?

By the way, I did end up putting two washers on each side of the headlight to gain additional clearance between the headlight housing and turn signal bracket. :thumb:

i dont wanna hijack here but i thought i would throw it in instead of wasting space elsewhere. i never use my highbeams because when i turn them on, its like a halo. its more of a ring of light than a beam. it lights everything around except the road in front of me which is why i use low beams instead. might i just need a new bulb?
Test to see where your low beam is pointing. You may just need to tilt the headlight down in the front. If your high beam is lighting up the trees a hundred yards down the road then that is what I would suggest.
I find that I have to adjust the lights whenever I change the size of my rear tire. When I went from the stock 130/70 to a 130/90 I had to tilt the light up. When I went back down to a 130/70 I had to tilt the light back down.
Do you still have the stock headlight?

put a couple rubber washers on the end of the turn signal (in between the signal and the bracket) and it gave me just enough clearance on the other side to be able to tilt the headlight back to where its supposed to be.
how come nothing is ever as easy as its supposed to be? anyhoo, haven't done the headlight angle test yet, kerry but i did read the end of the thread. to the bottom and to the RIGHT. thanks all.
