Post by: davipu on December 25, 2004, 08:32:13 PM
so I was really bored and rode up to Portland on the 23rd for a secret santa thing for needy kids.  it was so cold that the fog was freezing on my face shield.  great ride though.

how cold does it get up there?  I'm in pittsburgh, and I still ride as much as I can.  If it's in the thirties I'm gonna be out riding....I about froze coming home from work last thurs, it was probably in the low 20's.  who else is still riding in the cold?

As long as the engine starts and theres no snow then i ride.  Have learned how to gear up through experience but i definitely don't take "the long way home" when the temp is in the 20's... :o  :o  :o

Yup.  I don't know what the conversion to Farenheit is, but in Centigrade, 100 km/h (ie about 60 mph) wind chill factor is -27.  So when I was riding to uni in winter, with frost on the road and -3C, the corrected temperature at the bars was -30C.  And that's dry.  Add water and it's worse.

I live down here in Texas. It hasn't gone below 25 F. So I'm free to ride as long as it's not raining! We actually had a very white christmas, though, it was beautiful.
