if i have my gs on the centerstand and shift to first while depressing the clutch lever shouldn't i be able to spin the rear wheel with no problem? OR if i'm in first and have the clutch all the way in shouldn't i still be able to rock backward and forward without any resistance?
if not what's wrong? i've already adjusted the clutch cable tension within specs. why isn't my clutch disengaging??
any and all thoughts are appreciated! thanks in advance!
Actually the rear wheel will get power ... just a little with the clutch in ... oil viscosity and some plate friction will be transmitting some power ... not a lot ... bike should not stall when you put it in gear ...
Cool.

so it should be a little sticky to roll the bike back and forth? thanks...
While it's cold, that's OK.
But when it's hot you shouldn't feel much resistance.

you should be cool. mine does that, it has resistance when cold but when hot, not so much

but do you also have trouble cycling through the gears with the bike off? sometimes i won't be able to shift (the lever won't go up or down) but if i roll forward a bit i'll hear a click and then i'll be able to shift through the gears. just wondering if that's just my gs. it's just that i didnt' notice it until recently.

I think that's normal - not only to the GS, but to all bike gearboxes...
