Title: need help selecting jet needles for 2001
Post by: JetSwing on December 29, 2004, 09:30:50 PM
this is for all the rejetting gurus out there...i'm ready to rejet my 01. i need help on selecting the correct jet size.

here's my setup:
01 gs
k&n uni pod
slipon exhaust

following is what i plan to order from sudco.com once i know exactly what i need. i'm pretty sure about the pilot jet and the main jet size....but not too sure about the mid-main jet...

#20 pilot (MI 004.564 N224.103-20 P/J $4.75)
#67.5 mid (MI 004.272 N102.221 #67.5 $3.00)
#150 main (MI 004.305 N102.221 #150 $3.00)

does that sound about right for my setup? i'm hoping to get it right the first time...also anyone know sudco sells the washer?

thanks in advance!

A washer ... home depot  #4's ... 60 cents for a pack of 5 ... I have some I can send you ... just dont open the package too rough ... it might fly out ... or go down to HD or lowes or Ace or OSH ... anything with hardware in the name ... and buy yourself a bunch ... Dont need more than say 4 ... cos if you do ... well you are off somewhere else ...
Cool.

My setup will be almost the same, so would these be the correct numbers, i had ordered
                    20 pilot
                    62.5 mid
                    137.5 main

which I received the wrong ones from my dealer, so when I go to their to have them replaced with the correct ones, should I switch to the
                67.5 mid
150 main

04 GS
UNI Dropin
SS Wileyco slip on.

you probably should...i'm also getting inbetween sizes for the mid-main and main just in case. i don't want to have to wait for the correct one to come in...

MI 004.270 N102.221 #62.5 $3.00
MI 004.304 N102.221 #147.5 $3.00

is your uni pod the 2970? just making sure...

Don't think it's a pod, don't pods connect directly to the carbs (2 of them), mine is just like the stock one, but foam, just drops in the air box.

OK Tdan you have a UNI ...
OK rule of thumb ... 1 up on pilots, 1 up on mid's and 1 up on mains for UNI ... then 3 on mix screws and 1 #4 under each needle ... UNI = stock ... flow is almost same ...
K&N pod in place of air box ... will be same but 11 or 10 up from stock ... or 9 ... that mid main is confusing me ...
Logical way ... I have not seen a 01 carbs so I have no idea ...
Cool.
