Title: rebuilt carbs---but will it start?
Post by: maggiethecat on December 31, 2004, 09:34:30 PM
I rebuilt my carbs recently. tommorow I'm going to put them back in. Hope I can remember which hoses go where and such. my only real question is the vacuum line form the petcock valve. Where does it go? I have the Haynes, but it isnt real clear to me. any tips greatly appreciated.

vacuum line from frame petcock goes to that metal fitting on the left carb about 1/2 way down towards the front ... and its hard to spot ... its facing the right carb ... inbetween both carbs ... yea ... impossible to spot.
Cool.

You have a '95, right?  This BikeBandit diagram (http://houseofmotorcycles.bikebandit.com/partsbandit/showschematic~dept_id~725130.asp) gives you the general idea of where the vacuum hose (item 53) attaches, but the diagram makes it look like the hose plugs in where the choke plunger thingy emerges.

That's not quite right, but it's close.  Take a look; you'll find it.
