Title: got me some new tail today
Post by: gs2sv on January 03, 2005, 01:41:24 AM
well we finally got to work on the fenderectomy today. while we were at it we installed some MOTRAX MINI OVAL turn signals. here are a few pics of how it came out.

very nice design...though the pointy fender and square reflector is...so so
Title: rounded it out a bit

yeah, it looked a bit odd to me too, rounded it out slightly and got rid of some of the jaggedness. looks much better now. I mainly just wanted to keep the reflectors on there but get rid of the big hunk of plastic look.
thanks for the comments though.

nice work.  is there a way to mount the big reflector vertically rather than horizontally?  might improve the lines.  then again,  might not.

cheers,

ooo oo what about a custom cut reflector or just a different shape...

now after I did it i'm thinking there were actually a lot of ways I could have done it differently. the reflector does come off the metal bracket so you could mount it the other way, also most bike shops have boxes full of different reflectors they would be happy to get rid of, so you could probably come up with something cool.

interesting take on the fender "problem". Lots of top shelf euro bikes (MV, Ducati, etc) come with fenders/license holders that look quite a bit like that. nice compromise between forgoing the fender altogether and keeping some safety aspects...
