Does anyone know if an 04 gs500 fuel tank would fit on a gs500e 2000 model

ummm...probably not (though haven't tried it). tank (and seat) design changed from 2001 and on...

From all that I have seen and read ... NO.

That is, you MAY get the tank to bolt on (not even sure about that), but then the '00 seat wouldn't fit.

I have a 01+ tank and will try to see how it fits on the earlier frames when I go home. But I won't be able respond until tomorrow since my motherboard is fried. The frames must have changed (at least the subframes) in 01 to accomodate the different body work.

I checked the 01+ tank with the 89-00 seat and plastic. The plastic fits just fine with the tank but the 01+ tank does not have the tabs for the front of the plastics to snap into. The 89-00 seat is the issue. The 01+ tank has a hump at the seat that causes it not to fit fully flush againts the tank.
