Title: SV650 front end, should I buy it?
Post by: Dom on January 06, 2005, 01:11:30 AM
I havn't heard anything about an SV front end swap.  Anything I should know to encourage/discourage me?  Someone is selling it locally.  Everything included:

"Speedometer (the diamond shaped one) $150, Forks $250 with triple clamps, wheels with rotors and tires $300, also have a set of Gremica calipers from an MZ Skorpion $100."

Or should I hold out for the gsxr front end?

I think I would try to talk them down a little on the $.  ;)

Doubt that you would be able to talk them down on the price. SV front ends always go for premium. Odd since they are basically the same as a Katana front end...41mm convensional style forks. Stock SV brakes suck. They are only 2 piston, I still have a set. From what I remember, the steering stem is the same diameter. I did a GSXR front end install on a SV 2 years ago and all that was needed was to swap the stems.

But...for that price I would go inverted GSXR.

Suspected as much, considering that the mod is unheard of.

Thanks

if you're going to swap the forks, i don't think you want to end up with damper-rod forks after :D
