What years of GS sprocket carriers fit the 88-89 GSXR 750 wheel? I've tryed two so far and they don't fit, too small to fit inside. Does anybody have pic of one so I know what I'm looking for at the salvage yard?
Also if you have one to spare, I'm buying.
Cheers
Here's the correction, I have a 89 GSXR 1100 wheel which has 6 holes for crushes. This is the only year for this wheel and the wheel that fits is the 88-89 GSXR 750 wheel. When your looking for a wheel for this swap, make sure that it has 5 crushes or the sprocket carrier has 5 bolt for the sprocket, if it has 6, it's the 1100 wheel and it's not that easy to fit.
Cheers
yup 8)
werase643 did the writeup on my page. I cant stress enough that a 1100 wheel wont work. And be careful out there-many places will sell an 1100 wheel saying its for an 1100 and a 750. You need the 750 wheel specifically.
I've figured out how to get the 1100 wheel to fit using a GT550 carrier, but it needs some machinning to get chain alined and to make it narrow enough to fit. It will fit, just alittle more than an hours work.
Pantablo, you should include the info about the 11 wheel being different because the write up doesn't say anything about it. You know about the 6 holes, if it comes with or you can see the sprocket carrier on the wheel and it has 6 bolts for the sprocket, it's the 11 wheel.
Cheers
I know it should be there. I haven't been able to get into the site to change it for a long time...so it appears that the site is going to remain as is forever. Or until I can figure out how to get back in.
When I go to the URL of Tripod to get into and edit my site it loops me around somewhere else that doesnt recognize me...so I'm screwed.
odd.
Now that I tried it again I got in....weird. Site updated!
if i member it says 88-89 wheel
a 90 rim is 5 inch wide but wrong carrier
a 91-95 is 5.5 wide and wrong carrier
and a gsxr11 wheel has wrong carrier
if you got modern stuff you might look at 98 up katana and SV 650 rear wheels
it is also 4.5 but i don't have any to compare
as in racing...... rulebooks
if it doesn't say you can do it...you can't
