Title: exhaust size and material
Post by: 94gsrider on January 17, 2005, 03:50:27 PM
Hey guys, I wanted to know if anyone here could tell me the ID and OD of the stock exhaust before the muffler on the GS .  Also if anyone knows exactly what type of steel it is that'd be great as well.  Thanks very much

If I remember correctly the O.D. is 35mm and the I.D. is 33mm or 32mm, and it's just mild steel...nothing special.  At least that is the diameter of the downtubes.  I don't remember what the tube after the collector is.  Don't waste your time trying to find 35mm tubing here in the US...way too costly.  Just get 2-3/8" or you can bump it up to 2-1/2".

2 and 3/8th ... its 1 and like 3/4 or 7/8th ... and yea its a Buddha Loves You ... but available ... and muffler places will open up the ends etc to fit ... no problem.
Cool.

I would tell you to the 100th of an inch but I can't find my calipers...and I got confused...the tube after the downtubes is 2-3/8"...now I remember...it's been so long since I was thinking about exhausts...was it November? I dunno...I havn't slept much lately...
