Title: honda SL125
Post by: davipu on January 17, 2005, 08:55:56 PM
anyone else ever play with a honda SL125 ?  I picked up a pair of them and the one I have been messing with won't kick over, it has sat for about 6 years, so I am thinking the piston may be froze and worst case senerio I get to rebuild the motor.

I'm rebuilding a hodaka ace 100 at the moment...unbelievable how simple they are when you split the cases! Is the SL a 2 stroke?

I had a Honda DG 125 4-stroke, nice little bike 100kph and 100mpg. It had both kick start and electric. It was your "textbook" small 4 stroke engine and with a little luck freeing up a piston should not be over-difficult to someone with a bit of mechanical experience, these Honda 4 strokes and their clones power the third and emerging worlds and they don't have a dealer on every corner.

I still have my running 1976 kawasaki ke175 b-1.  Quite a powerful little rotory valve two-stroke.  No top end at all though, hehe
