a nice Jansport will run you about 50 bucks, it's water resistant, I have had mine for about 4 years now and the zippers still work great.  if I need to water proof it I grab a trash bag and stick it in there first fill it twist the top and fold it over  works great, and then it also doubles as a liner.

I have one and cant say enough. It hold more than you could possibly imagine, and has been 99% waterproof for me.
I have been in some of the worst rain storms, with road spray you can imagine, and have almost always had my contents be completly dry.
That is most deffinetly more than most back packs can say.

I have also had zero problems with it moving around under any circumstances.

Highely recomended.

My Oxford-1 magnetic tank bag zips off the magnetic pad to become a back-pack making it very versatile with or without the tank mags.
