Title: My project after wreck.
Post by: tdan553527 on January 26, 2005, 09:29:19 AM
Here's a simulated pic of what my bike will look like after repainting. Yea, I know some people don't like the decal kits, but that's the look I like, so I'm doing it. Makes it look faster. Should be done painting within the next week. Decal kit is on the way. What do you think? Also, I know I don't have Brembo Brakes or a Polini Exhaust, but they look cool.

I like it.  It would look even cooler with gold forks. :thumb:

I like it too.  Much cooler than my bike, which only says "Suzuki" on it.
One thing you have there that I'm going to do myself  is those stickers on the wheels.  My wheels are white, but I'm going to strip them down, paint them black and get some of those white "Team SUZUKI" stickers to put on there.  May sound stupid, I like 'em!    8)

Thanks everybody, I got those rim decals from www.planetsuperbike.com for about $8.00 for a set of 8. The rest are from NAGS e-bay store http://stores.ebay.com/Nags-Sportbike-Decals-and-Parts_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZQ2d1QQdptZ0QQftidZ2QQtZkm for about $50.00.
I also just put on some gold anodized barends and CBR rearsets w/gold anodized pegs.

hey...for the CBR rearsets...what do you have to do to make it fit the GS?

Each hole on the CBR rearset needs to dremeled out about 3 or 4 milimeters each, then bolt on.

If you are looking for any other custom or special decals, contact Jim at Fabritech Designs (//www.fabritechdesigns.com). He is the one that made the stickers on my GS.

I like your bike alot. I was thinking about doing the same thing but was worried about trying to sell the bike with the decals like that when i actually came to the point of selling it. It would be a pain to take them off and put the stock ones on for the fact that some ppl might be turned off by it. But i personnaly like it. So i just had ordered the rims accents like yours, and was thinking about simply buying a pair of either colour or white bridgestone decals. Let me know which one you guys like better. Let me know.

Thanks.

Thats what i was thinking since there is alot of white already on the bike. I would get decal if i took the suzuki and the tribal decals off. But for now, thats what ill do i guess.

I don't think I would be turned off by decals on a bike from a buying standpoint...

I mean, how much more is Suzuki charging for the 2004 Mat Mladin Limited Edition GSX-R1000?  $200.  It's not like it has any performance upgrades...just a different(better) paint job and the standard Team Suzuki stickers.  It's all poser factor because they don't have any of the mods that the stickers would suggest(i.e. yosh sticker but stock exhaust...) but the bike looks bad ass and I would ride/own one in a heartbeat, even if it would require me to shrug off snobby comments from the "cool" guys every once in a while. 8)

You like colour or white? lol

Color ones look good, but I'm not worried about selling my bike right now, and besides I don't think the decals would turn off too many people when I do go to sell it, I think it would be the fact that the bike has been laid over more than the decals. I'll deal with that day when it comes.

I like stickers too, but only if i have that product installed.  Otherwise it's ricey.  For example, I won't put APR stickers on my car if I don't have an APR chip or exhaust.  See if you can find a Tokico sticker instead of Brembo.  That's my opinion, and I do think think the bike looks cool., I would just caution against setting yourself up to be seen as a poser or wannabe.

Doesn't bother me to considered a poser or wannabe, all i wannbe doing is riding. Besides, I only ride with about 3 other guys 99% of the time, so as I am flying down the road and about to pass the gixxer thru the next turn, he will never know.  :o

Hey,

I just noticed something that you want to put on your bike. It shows Motul suzuki, and then you have a castrol decal. Shouldnt you pick one or the other? thats just my opinion. Otherwise the bike is sweet.

I just think it's like putting "R-Type" and "V-Tech" stickers on cars that are neither of the above, or aren't even Hondas.  Or putting a turbo badges on non-turbo cars, or putting "AEM" stickers on cars with a stock airbox.  The list goes on and on.

I'm going to put a big harley eagle  decal on my tank  Either that or a rolling rock horsehead logo.

Seriously, I have seen 1.8T emblems on civics and V-Tech Rtype emblems on Jettas.

By the way, I really like the black with the gold corona.  It looks sharp and  fits the bike. :thumb:
