I have seen it on a tv show once. It is designed to tow wrecked vehicles from places that a tow truck cannot access. I believe they are currently in use in Europe and the UK.

I've seen those before, they were being used on the autobahn to clear car wrecks, as they were able to manuever down the side and weave through the traffic.  the problem was that the trafic whould back up so bad and so fast that tow trucks could not get to the wreck to clear it. so they whould use them to pull everything off to the side and free up the lanes to get traffic moving again.

sorry.

It was just an interesting picture that I ran across.  Thought a few people would get a kick out of it.  Thanks dgyver, davipu and Frost, I didn't know it was actually in use anywhere.  I thought the owner just built if for fun to see if it could be done.

The wheels on the tow dolly probably have brakes on them.

Those Goldwings are at least 1800cc's, that's 200 more cc's than my Karmann Ghia.

That is the car that's driving and the bike is just the front ... aka a Rear engine trike ... Frot wheel drive car fitted to a bike front.
Cool.
