Post by: roguegeek on January 28, 2005, 10:01:39 AM
Does anyone know what is involved in Suzuki's 6000 mile recommended service and estimates on the cost of it?

Check  here (http://www.gstwin.com/maintenance_info.htm)

I didn't think there was a 6000 mile scheduled service?

Strange. I called up a Suzuki dealer and gave them all of the bike stats (year, miles, etc...). They said there's a 6000 mile Suzuki recommended full maintenance to do. It was about $300 (includes parts and labor) and included changing all oil and filters, looking over all of the chassis, a valve adjustment (which is the biggest cost I think), and some other things. Does that sound right to you guys? Any other thoughts?

My dealer charges about $200 for the same job. I just do it myself and save a bundle. Valve check is not that hard to do.

Me too!  (Fun enough to make a video of it, anyway....   )

roguegeek -- For the greater part of $300 it may behoove you to get some tools of your own and give it a whirl.  Here are some message threads that may help you to decide:who has kerry's valve adjusting kit?
