Title: what other speedo will fit a gs 500
Post by: jmpowie on January 28, 2005, 03:42:20 PM
I need to find a speedo for my girlfriends 1990 gs500.  It would make it alot easyer if I could find other bikes that use the same speedo.  I think a gs650 199? is the same size.  thanks John

Considering the front rim came from an '88 GSXR750, a speedo from the same bike will be calibrated correctly, but I don't know if it will fit the instrument bezel.

you probably already checked, but if not, see if the cable's broken. i've lost one, and at first i thought the speedo was broken, when it was just the cable. anyway, gl.

just wondering.....what part of the front rim came from a gsxr?

if it was the rim.... it would easily swap into a GSXR axle....it don't
and i can't find brgs with GSXR ID and GS OD.... :(

in theory.......any bike with a 17 inch front and a cable driven speedo should fit....better to stay with brand...SUZ
