Damn, that sucks dude. I am glad they did not get away with your ride.
Was it parked in the same spot you used to park your GS because that was well out of view.
Some jerks tried to break into my Tacoma last month and destroyed the passenger door lock in the process. :x
To bad you cant chop the hand off a thief like in the old days. That would sure make me feel better.

Pablo.  Is there any way for you to buy a house with a garage?  Because I'm afraid you're right, they'll be beck and this time be ready to take on that bike lock.

And it wouldn't surprise me that the dealer leaked your address.  A car dealer in MA was busted doing that stuff.  They were giving addresses to theives for certain cars that they wanted.

Did you report the attempted theft?

Make sure you report the dealers name to the police in your report. I would take a trip to the dealer and let them know what happened, as well as that their name was included in the report to the police.

For my sister's 7th birthday we went to a rollerskating rink, Skootchies in Seattle, and we suspect that after we paid with a check and were partying away they drove to our house and robbed it.   :(

Glad they didn't get the bike.  :guns: thieves.

Good thing you're moving the bike. They'll be back. And, if they're coming back, a video camera somewhere might get a licence plate. I can't chip in for the camera now, but in 4 months I will (when I get my m/c fund back).

Uncle Sam doesn't care what you buy until you are buying objects that are commonly associated with illegal behavior.  People don't usually care if Uncle Sam knows what they are buying unless they are buying objects that are commonly associated with illegal behavior.  Whatcha buying Srinath?

Hopefully you have comprehensive coverage, just in case.

How easy was it to sink those concrete screws on the bikebrace?

yes, the bike is fully insured but if I had to claim a loss my next bike would be more to insure, and my current coverage (cars are on same policy) would also go up...I'm screwed either way.

It was not easy to sink them. I had to drill 3/8" round holes 4" deep for each of the 8 screws. went through a few drill bits doing it. Of course now it was all worth it.

No thanks, doc.  I plan on opting for the less invasive and intimate colonoscopy.

I've heard of a "suitcase nuke" but I've never heard of an "anus nuke".  But I guess that's one place to hide your Uranium 238.  Actually, there's no better a place to hide Uranium than in your anus!

Next time they might bring a cutting torch...maybe the mini tank kit that they sell at Home Depot...the thing is quiet and will fit in a backpack...I'd move the bike into storage or get busy building a shed...with a good lock!

I've already moved the bike to an undisclosed location and plan to move the bikebrace there too, even though its inside. I just think its odd that they would have seen the bike covered, with the bikebrace being the only thing visible, and continued with the theft attempt. And then to try rocking the bike back and forth against the steel rod to try breaking it loose...I know for sure they didnt case the joint otherwise they would have brought more appropriate tools to either remove the bikebrace from the ground or remove the rear wheel (since I dont have the axle covers preventing rear wheel removal).

Here's a GPS tracking system/alarm... www.cycletrak.com

Seems like this kind of technology will be extremely common in the next few years...buy your stock. :)

What a bunch of Horse shaZam!!
I'm sorry but were is that mob that killed that one guy on the other post when you need them. I can't stand thieves. That is the one thing I will not stand for is some @$$hole stealing something you worked hard for. They want to get it what they think is the easy way. I'm sorry about the language....stuff like this pisses me off like you would not believe. Yes I've had many things stolen....but mess with my bike and someone will die. :guns:

glad they didn't get your ride, unfortunately I have good knowledge of how it feels to wake up and find your ride gone. I am definitely going to have to spring for one of those bike braces also. I have the gs pretty well locked up as well as alarmed, and the gun stays loaded now....the next thief is  getting a new hole installed in his ass.

When I upgrade to a new bike, I'm definitely going to install some ground anchors for it, that, or figure out a way to park it indoors. I have it setup so that I can put my GS in my laundry room/workshop... dont see why I couldnt fit any other bike in there, as long as the bar span isnt too much greater.
