so here it is. HEEAD MY WORDS - this kit is a pain in the butt. i never really did models before but i couldnt resist the 8 dollar deal i saw at 'toys r us'. 1st time i was in there for at least a decade.. either i have fat fingers or they are expecting to much out of me.

Uncanny! :?
you could stretch it, and slam it. take the wheels to a model shop and have them chromed and put that bad boy in a case for eternity
That is some funny stuff
I love how you took a pic of it rolled over. :thumb:
That is one sweet looking model. I will be heading to Toys R Us tomorrow to find me the same model. I could really use something like that on my desk. I love it dude..... :thumb:

Send the carbs to Srinath so he can rejet them for you...
Anyone else notice that the real bike doesnt have the heavy bracing present on the model bike? Not even the 04's and 05's have bracing that heavy.

The swing arm is modeled after the 750.
I bought several kits at Toys-r-us a while back:
Ducati 999InfoStrada Ducati 996
That's a pretty cool model. I prefer plastic over the diecast, there are all kinds of possibilities that you could do with it. Here is one of my latest.

Shane, that is a model?
How big are those things?
1\12 scale. about 5 Inches long, 3/12 inches high
yup mine is 1:12 too
ok, now get your paints out, exacto knife, emery boards (nail file) and clean up the plastic flashings and mold marks. like the hole on the end of the exhaust can. ream one out, smooth the mold mark and repaint. grab some LED's and a watch battry and hook it up. sand the tires down a little to get rid of the Gloss on the tread but leave the sidewalls alone. mask off the body work and spray the bottom of the fender areas with flat black. and paint the chain links yellow or black but leave the pins chrome. Toothpicks are great for detail work like that. slice them a little and dip the slivered end into the cap of the paint. i used to make my own detail brushes with small pinch of hair glued to a toothpick.
wow. im guessing u have done this before? lol. im gonna paint the can black for that CF look hehe!
Here is one of my new ones.

it's a Tamiya plastic model bought at my local hobby store, detailed and painted by me.
Where is this tiny farm where you take all these pictures?
And for the people who don't like fairings, how about this one.
