The wheels on my F are black and you can see every spec of dirt or oily buildup on them. I'm just wondering what you guys use and recomend for cleaing wheels or any other dark metal surface like my frame as well. Thanks.
Will simple green hurt it in any way?
I wash the Baby G in soap and water but I clean the wheels with WD-40 and a rag. It works for me anyway, but maybe you've got more crud there than I get on Nicky. I've heard the Simple G works. But I know if you just wipe the wheels down every couple of rides with the WD and a rag it seems to prevent them from getting cruddy. But you love the little bike don't you...and this forum too HUH??
C.......
wheels are most easily cleaned with wd-40
I'll try the WD, and yes I do love my bike and the forum.
Will WD hurt it in anwyay though? Possibly over time?
WD is some pretty good stuff, got my engine looking damn good again.
Meguiars wheel and tire cleaner!!!!!! the best thing yet. You can even use it on almost every part of the bike (accept painted surfaces) and it easily removes road grime and tar...
Hands down the best I have found yet.

Ride it in the RAIN!
Seriously, I wash 'em last just like the rest of the bike, but sometimes I use the Liquid Wrench on a sock after I clean and lube my chain.
Ride it in the rain??!?!?! Heck no!!!! I've only been caught in the rain twice because all last summer we had perfectly sunny days that would have about 3-4 10 minute downpours. It was weird it would be perfectly sunny then all of sudden one dark cloud above me would spew out rain then 10 mins later the cloud would be gone. That happened all summer. I'm not scared to ride in the rain I just cherish my baby too much. I don't even wash it with a hose and soap. I wash my bike with all purpose 409 and a cloth.
I use tyre foam on mine. I know it says dont on the tin but I only spray it on the sidewalls and not the center tread. Its excellent at bringing all the crap off the wheels too. I have found it best to clean the wheels regularly and not let too much dirt build up on them. WD40 works but works out expensive and I have always found that it tends to attract dirt if you dont wipe it off completely.
Dishwashing liquid ... If you can take them off put it in the diswasher ...
Cool.
