That's funny New...i get the same thing from time to time right after i put on my helm.  Not dirty from what i can see.  But i think Air's suggestion is a good one.   :P

Is it an old helmet? If it is then it's probably the built up sweat irritating your head. I don't know if you can clean the liner but google it and see. If it's a new helmet you could either a)be sweating a lot (try a bandana or light balaclava) b) you might be allergic to the material in the helmet...Those are my guesses but the best solution so far is scratch it ;)

I always wear a bandana... helps a LOT with the itchy and a little with the helmet hair.

you could line your helmet with sandpaper.

Denorex shampoo.  Well, I don't know if this will help your problem, but the stuff sure feels good after an all day ride. 8)

An over-the-counter medication you should definitely try is Scalpicin.   This is applied directly to the area that itches. :thumb:

Hope this helps.

Yeah, I have it too. Did you guys try to wash your hair? I tried. Does not help. After a few weeks it comes back again :)  :)  :)

Just joking

Try to wash your liner with mild soap solution, it should help. I have never had it but my helmet is new.

maybe i should just shave it all off and then there's nothing that can cause an itch!

Think Gallaheger, instead.  Where he isn't balding, but rather, the hair is just kind of sliding backwards.   :thumb:

After cutting my hair recently from it being long to maybe 4 inches on the top, I've been finding that I can't put my helmet on without some of my hair falling forward and into my eyes. I need to find a solution that will keep my hair back when putting on a helmet. Cutting all of my hair off isn't a solution. ;)

Do you guys still think a bandana or balaclava is the way to go? Have you found any other solutions? I would want whatever I put on my head to be thin and secure as possible. Thanx for the help.

I feel weird with no bandana on now. I like the feeling much more, but I suppose it's akin to the 2%/non-fat skim milk debate; you like one because of your acclimation to it, not because of an inherent preference.

Never tried a bandana before. I'm guessing you tie it off real low on the back of your head to make sure the helmet does go over the knot. Any other suggestions?

okay honda sells stuff for "helmet fresh" i think even cyclegear has it. Just spray it in.. its like febreeze.

Anyway you can use a silk headgear thinge.. that will keep your head cool. Helmet fresh stuff works. I had some a while back when i used to ride often.

Pull the liner out and wash it...  Or buy a new helmet with a removable liner...

I only get itches on my stupid sideburns...  It looks dumb AND it's itchy in my helmet. :x

I am having the same problem.  My hari is pretty long so I think I will start wearing a bandana.  I found a cool one on the side of the road with the egg of chaos on it (ying yang).
