I did it. I bought a 93 gs from a guy tonight. It needs some work, but I think I got a good deal. Paid 500 bucks :thumb: , I felt that was fair. The carbs were gone through last spring. The fork seals were also replaced in May. It has been sitting in his garage since that time. Has 13K miles on it. We couldn't get it started but that most likely was due to the old gas in it. I will be putting new gas and having the battery checked out first thing.
According to the seller he thinks there is a electrical problem as it died on him a few times while riding. May just be the battery. Not sure but I am sure with the help of gstwin I can get her running and in top shape in no time.
I tried to check everything out the best I could and hopefully I can get it going and have a cruiser in time for spring.
I am so excited I had to share with everybody.

Did a search and found tha answer to this question. Looks hairy. I will have to check the stator for sure. Where do you guys get parts for these bikes? What are some good locations on the web to order parts for the GS? I also bought a service manual so hopefully if it is the stator it can walk me thrugh it.
