Well I hope NONE of you ever have to experience this. On my way to lunch today, on my CBR, i was doin about 85 or so down the highway. All of the sudden i start getting PELTED with what felt like MILLIONS of tiny little bugs. I started to swerve to see if I could make them stop hitting me, i got behind a van and it stopped, THEN THE BLOODY VAN MOVED!! Turned out a cement truck was (or what appeared to be one anyways) was shooting dust out. I was being hit with chunks of concrete/sand. God it hurt SOO bad, even through my leathers, it was horrible. My legs were red for like 2 hours. Anyways, thats what it feels like to be a Sandblasted Human....dear god it hurts, lol.
Holy cow! If that stuff hurt that bad through your leathers what did it do to the finish on your bike?
Bob
Dude, I had the same thing happen when i had my Kat. It sucked big time. At least my Kat had a rock screen. It must have been a funny sight for everyone else seeing a dude on a yellow Kat hugging the tank of the bike.
Reminds me of the motorcycle rider in Gumball Rally ... or was it the luxury car that got sandblasted in the desert wind storm?
Cannonball Run?
I hope you got the license plate #. You could have your insurance company go after them to git you a new paint job! That happens all the time with landscaping trucks, rock/gravel trucks etc. dinging windshields and whatnot...falls under the non-secured load laws.
Well currently i have an old tank on it, cause im switching from F4 plastics to F4i, so i was rollin streetfighter (so i was gettin pelted in the neck and helmet, I even got sand up in my helmet GRRRR) Marred up my headlight pretty bad, but ive got a new F4i one ready to go on, so no love lost there. Just hurt BAD!
I was on my old bike riding across the mackinac bridge a few years back while they were doing construction
they were sandblasting someof the rails or something and it got on my bike and myself......2 hours and 125 miles later I stopped and saw that all the clear coat on the right side of my tank was gone and the engine case was all scoured up
not much I could do about it i guess

No, I'm thinking of
The Gumball Rally alright. Kinda dumb, but worth one watch at least.
I never ever ever ever ride behind a construction vehicle for that very reason. And i do my best not to ride behind loaded open back trucks or pickups especially on a freeway. :nono: :nono: :nono:
See i didnt know what truck it was, there were like 4 industrial trucks, with passenger vehicles nearby. I was lane splitting trying to get by so i would stop being hit, loan and behold it was the front truck the one i was riding towards, I would have slown down if i had known. GRR.

i thought you were talking about the real Gumball Rally
came through reno about 2 years ago
man there were some really nice cars there
really cool stuff
they were talking about crusing the highway at something like 160-200 mph
I was on the freeway one day when we had a freak hail storm. Those little pellets hurt like a Buddha Loves You at 70 MPH. Even through my Tour Master jacket!
Reminds me kind of what it feels like to ride on the freeway in a hailstorm. *that* sucked. Royally.
