Title: Crrazy Angle and rear pegs. Questions
Post by: dyran on February 25, 2005, 10:15:31 PM
My kickstand is putting my bike at an insane angle and it will probably fall if I actually used it instead of the centre stand...anyone have any idea of why and how to fix this problem. My passenger pegs are busted is there a quick fix or should I get old CBR pegs and go from there?

Here is a pic of the stand on my donor chassis ---
(http://216.77.188.54/coDataImages/p/Groups/41/41309/folders/188899/1449431standondonorbike.jpg)

The flat section at the end of the stand is not obvious at this angle. The brown mess in the upper left corner is the center stand.

Could it be that the stand is not swinging all the way out or possibly too far out? This is the only explanation (besides huge non-stock tire/rims) if the stand has not been cut off or damaged (bent) or shortened for some reason.

kinda looks like the flat area might have been snagged and straightened out a bit, the tip only touches right?

Naw, the donor is on the center stand. I took this shot from above to give the thread originator an idea of what a complete one looks like. The camera angle makes it look short.

Bates had a good point, is it too low or too high? I am guessing too low when on the kick stand, aka leaned over too far toward the ground.

I added a Katana shock and a 150/70 rear tire and my bike really leans over when its on the side stand.  I think Im gonna have to lengthen it somehow.  Thankfully Pablo already has a good solution to the problem as seen on the lower portion of that page.

It's on  a steep leaning angle and I have the stock size tires.

I bet something happened to it when it was stuck at the bottom of that river.

Just kidding. . .

I'd bet it has a Katana shock on it.  Be happy!  I'm trying to get one too, so my sidestand won't work, just like yours. . .

buy a hockey puck or a small piece of 2 x 4
and put it in your tank bag/under the seat
place under side stand

cheap easy fix

i used to carry a smashed soda can in the tank bag to park in gravel... kept it from sinking in
