Title: GS500R... What makes one?
Post by: conflicttheorist on February 28, 2005, 01:50:13 PM
Hi all,
This may me an irrelevant question because anyone who puts an 'R' sticker does it primarily for looks anyway, but how many and what modifications to the bike would qualify it for the 'R' designation?  When can I start calling my bike a GS500R and legitimately slap that sticker on it?

Pay like 2000 bucks for that GS500R fairing set from Brazil. Then you can call your bike an R.

It's only $24.99, gs500r (http://www.uptimebot.com/Store/OutdoorLiving/factoryreconditioned-black-decker-gs500r-36v-grass-shear.html) and it means factory reconditioned.

Damn I want that fairing! Soooooo bad ass. I just dont like to hear the bad reviews about their undertail kit.

:dunno: Has anyone actually bought the front fairing kit from them? I really want to hear a review on that.

Must be the same thing as putting fairings on a bike and calling it a sportbike.....ooops that sounds like the F

anyway....if you are going to put a R sticker on it, you better have something "under the hood"

I call my bike "Francesca".  I have yet to find a sticker or decal that actually says Francesca but like Chinox said...you can name your baby (http://www.unbsj.ca/arts/english/jones/mt/images/preparation-h.gif)  and it would be nobody's bid-ness......

I think Id rather have a new bike before I spent that money on a fairing, or Id do some serious modding to my engine, all before Id buy a fairing.  Thats just me though.

Call it whatever you want...but don't cry when you get spanked by a Daihatsu and the 15 year old kid driving laughs at you.

I love umbrella girls. . .

I also liked the Preparation H man.  That was crazy.  I guess what is what you do when you're soaking your grape tail in warm water.   Passes the time.

My bike is a naked R model.  Very rare, especially in the midwest.  At least that is what the e-bay guy told me. . . :dunno:

what happened?  I come back and find a whole bunch of posts about cutting the grass!  Screw it.  I'm just gonna make stickers that say gs500RR and slap them all over the bike.  I might even add another 'R' for the fenderectomy.

My $12 sticker makes mine an "R".  The HP boost from this sticker is phenomenal!

To make up for it, when I get a GSXR 600 eventually, I'll be sure to put a gstwin.com decal on it.

Is that black bar below the R just a bad angle or a blacked out GSX?

It actually says "GS" below the R.  I cut off the "x".
It's shiny silver and didn't photograph.
