Title: What do you like more? Simple question.
Post by: TOMIMOTO on March 02, 2005, 04:23:52 PM
Ok no story involved in this thread but what do you like more. Also why and anything good/bad you've heard about any of these.

Try to not be biased towards Suzuki please.

Personally, I like the Honda and it's sleeker-looking profile. The Suzuki looks bulky, and the Yamaha... Well I don't know about it.

love all except the GSXR...

R6...my all time favorite...just plain sexy...

CBR600RR...love the solid looks...love the undertail...hate the seat

ZX6R...very unique...and the looks had really grown on me...

GSXR...just dont' like it... :nana:

if i have the money to buy one...it'll be a very tough choice...handling should be all the same...since if you're tracking it...you wont' use it to its max potential...but i think it'll be the R6...it fits me like a glove...and it's just SO SEXY

Don't know. Right now I'm leaning towards the Ninja but it has to have been the most uncomfortable one. I sat on all of them today. The Ninja feels like you're laying on your stumoch sitting on it. Pictures don't do it justice at all. It's completely different from the other 3. The R6 is definately comfortable. I think the gixxer and CBR are just as comfortable.
With the R6 and Gixxer I'm scared that they're going to update it visually within the next year or 2. I absoultely hate buying something just for it to be better and improved the next year. Plus I like undertail exhausts. With the Ninja it's brand new and redone this year. I also like the undertail exhaust.

Pantablo can you give me some info on the CBR. Right now I'm leaning towards the Ninja and CBR.

This is what I've come up with in my head

Honda: (+) appears to be built like a rock + comfy riding position lighter for this year + undertail exhaust (-) looks too beefy to me

Yamaha: (+) also looks built like a rock + really comfy riding position (-) side exhaust - scared that it will be visually redesigned in the next year or 2, it's looked generally the same for a while now

Suzuki: (+) appears to be good build quality + factory steering defuser (-) side exhaust - also scared that it will be visually changed in next year or 2 - yucky single headlamp

Kawasaki: (+) undertail exhaust + air box located in front half of air box + rear slipper clutch + 36more cc than other 600s + brand new for 05, won't be changed + sweet rear seet cowl + look at those rotors!!! they lok like damn cheese graters!!! hahaha, thats sweet + styling looks similar to the Yamaha R1 which is my dream bike but dad won't let me get because it's too fast (-) awkard stretched forward riding position - build quality doesn't appear to be that good - ugly colors/different styling that will have to rub off on me

I really can't chose I like them all. I guess there's not really a lot of info on the ninja yet since it's new but any info you guys can give me on the other bikes can be great. Thanks. I need to chose within this month.

If i get the R6 my license plate will be "nanana" anyone get it?

yea, r6 is due for an update...

my friend has a 600rr...not very comfy (compared to r6).  it's probably the worst out of all unless they changed something this year. i think it still got a real hard seat. cbr lacked midrange power but it might have improved  for 05.

05 r6 has improved in braking, suspension, and power over the 04. so you really can't go wrong there. just put a nice looking high mount exhaust.

also, look out for the upcoming issue of sports rider...they'll have a 600 shootout. it might be on the newsstand now. the current issue has "first 05 600 tests"...get the next issue.

and please do not compare the looks of zx-6r to r1.

Yamaha, I like the looks but it will probley be rubuilt in the coming years, Ive also heard bad things about Yamaha's drivetrain.

Honda, Not sure if I like the look, looks to low in the front, and there also spendy, but you get some great quality for the price.

Kaw, I like the looks but I dont really know much on them, and if its uncomfortable I wouldnt keep it in the mix.

Suzuki, I think its ugly, but it has good build quality and is realatively cheap.

If it were me I dont know what I would do, probley either the Yamaha or Honda, Id take the Suzuki first but the damn thing is just too ugly when compared to those others.

Haven't ridden the Kawasaki, but if I had to pick between the 4, I'd pick the GSXR, then the CBR. If I had it my way, I wouldn't pick any of them and go with a Honda CBR600 F4i. Much more comfortable bike than all of those on top with virtually the same performance as the RR.

I hate undertail pipes! So I'd go for the R6 (or the CBR F4i) and I hate single head lights on sport bikes so no to the Zuki.

R6 if you like the styling.  The earlier R6 tranny (99-02) was a little clunky and had the now infamous '2nd gear' issue.  That was cleaned up in 03.  The R6 has a bada$$ powerplant and (if you are so inclined) will wheelie at the drop of a hat.

The new 05 R6 has gotten all of the upgrades that are meaningful this year... inverted forks, radially mounted brakes, plus new styling... only the asthetic undertail exhaust is missing.  I wouldn't hold my breath for an R6 redesign until at least '07... yamaha's history with the bike is to make modest performance and asthetic upgrades every 2 years with a major redesign every 4.  the 6 just got a facelift and some performance bits this year, so 06's will likely be strikingly similar to 05's

If I were buying, I would be torn between the R6 and the Gixxer.

If it's just the looks that you are going for ,no doubt - CBR or R6  ,

BUT in the latest test i was readin two days ago the GSXR was way better then all the others.Performance - Suzuki!

Kawasaki: + styling looks similar to the Yamaha R1 which is my dream bike but dad won't let me get because it's too fast

I rather tell your daddy all of them are practically as fast as R1 so forget about them all... *LOL* just kidding...

I'd sit on each of them and close my eyes to get the feeling and would pick the one that feels better, because once I sat on both R1 and R6 and found R6 very uncomfy compared to the R1...
