If I had the need for a speedo, I would look into installing newer gen gsxr instrument cluster. The speedo pickup is at the output shaft which bolts on next to the front sprocket. I have not looked into the gear ratios to see if they are compatiable. Easy to do since I have the info somewhere.

The tach would be easy to wire in as well as the other basic gauge lights. There would be a few things not needed like the temp gauge, fuel light and FI. The lastest gsxr1k even has a shift indicator light.

No one that I know of has tried this....be the first.

I think half the problem using a GSXR unit would be making the install look clean and stock... I've toyed w/ that idea as well but just getting it mounted has stopped me before I even got into how I would make it all actually work...
