Title: Covering my bike
Post by: liraz on March 06, 2005, 07:29:12 PM
Hi,

I have a pretty good looking bike, I'd like to keep it that way.
I used to cover it immediately after parking the bike, but this is a bit of a hassle, and I'm wondering if it's really necessary.

Is putting the bike in the shade and cleaning / waxing routinely enough to preserve it's good looks?

I still plan on covering it if I'm expecting rain, as I'm sure getting the bike drenched is not good for it. I'm pretty sure the bike gets mildly wet with morning dew though...

Am I missing the reason people cover the bike up in the first place?

Cheers,
Liraz

Less likely to get stolen if it's covered...

The sun will fade and crack EVERYTHING. My seat, gauges, controls, switchgear, etc is all "sun kissed". That's the #1 enemy I think, not rain...
