Hey,
I am the proud owner of a 2005 gs500F, but have no idea what is the best lube to use after cleaning etc, as i have read that you need to lubricate certain parts after every wash, and i can already spot some rusting on the chain and crevaces.
any info will be grately received.
cheers
steve
:dunno:
Not too sure what you have available over there, but Maxim chain wax is one of the more common responses here.

WD40 is good for most places and easy to apply from an aerosol can. Good for keeping corrosion at bay on the steel parts, especially the frame. Apply after every wash, and maybe annually in hard to get at places prone to corrosion like the inner recesses of the frame, inside the steel headlamp shell etc. The military use vast quantities of the stuff to wash down helicopters after every flight from warships at sea. Use a longer lasting wax type corrosion inhibitor on the engine alloy parts. Apply once a year, cleaning off the old layers with paraffin (kerosene to our bros' in the US  ) before re-application. Rocol is a good brand in the UK. Use purpose-designed chain lube (oil or wax) on the chain (at regular intervals - depends how much you ride). Silkolene is a good UK brand. Keep any of this stuff well away from the brake parts, especially pads and disks. Also don't put it on the exhaust unless you're into mobile aroma therapy. And don't put it on the seat - unless you're really into that sort of thing!
