Title: front suspension too soft
Post by: daveyb182 on March 09, 2005, 01:06:59 PM
i wonder if somone can help me.

I have a 2001 GS500 and my front suspension is too soft.  I am not that mechanically minded and was wondering if someone can tell me if i can stiffen the front suspension a little.

Can it be done? Is it difficult? How do i go about it making sure that i get both sides at the same tension

If someone can help that would be great

thanks guys
:)

You can make a spacer or buy some Progressive springs for about $60. Use the search function at the top of the page and search for progressive springs.

If someone has pics and a tutorial on how to do, i think someone should throw it up in the mods section of the site....anyone?

I used that tutorial this weekend for installing my Progressive springs. Took me no more than 20 minutes. Was an easy installation because of that tutorial and the front is much stiffer now. :)

BEWARE!!!  Once you start down the path to the dark side, forever will it control your destiny (with apologies to Yoda   ).
Now that you've made the front better, you'll realise the back needs fixing as well.  Then there will be the better tyres, the jets, the pipe.  Welcome to the dark side.  :thumb:
