Title: Rear tire selection.
Post by: Focer on March 14, 2005, 03:27:16 PM
I really need a new rear tire now... really! Anyone have any good suggestions for a replacement? I have thought about going wider (for looks) but, I dont want to lose any cornering performance.

BTW I know about the search function but, I couldnt find too much.

Thanks Guys!

What's on the front? Without knowing this little bit of info, it can be difficult determining a proper replacement rear tire to match your current front tire.

If you have the stock front tire, it would be safe to go to a Bridgestone Battlax BT-45, and stick with the stock size, 130/70; sticky with good mileage. I replaced my stockers at 12,000 miles and even though I developed a visually flat spot in 4000 to 6000 miles, the tire still turns-in smoothly and pretty well considerering the amount of straight lining I've been doing.
