Bolt up some Katana or Gixxer forks!!
Keep the stock springs and what not and install them when you sell the bike if you think your going to take a hit.
I highly recommend stiffer springs, it will make a real difference in the ride. I weight 165 lb w/o gear and installed progressive springs. That stopped the front end from acting like a pogo stick every time you touched the front brake.
Don't know if emulators would be worth the money or not...my guess would be no unless you do track days alot.
For money reasons, you shouldn't have to do $400 emulators. But, do get the springs.
seals
springs
thicker oil... 20 W
So race tech progressive springs, new seals, and 20W oil... should do me.
thanks,

Check to see if the forks are bent or not first. Then decide if you want to rebuild them or replace your front end.
this sunday I'm probably going to check the fork legs out and do the seals and oil.

Take the forks in and get them checked out. You can't tell with your bare eyes. LE and Aftershocks are both within an hour of you.
LE?
Linderman Engineering. You have some of the best suspension shops in the country here in the bay area, no reason to half ass your front end if you actually want to make it better.
once I see that the forks are straight I'm going to do the seals and add heavier fork oil, which should I add, and what weight?
also I think instead of spending crazy money, i'm going to add spacers ala http://www.gstwin.com/making_fork_spacers.htm
how long should the spacers be?
thanks

Aftershocks in palo alto (where my forks are gettin done) straighten inner tubes for 40 bucks a piece assuming they arent wrinkled, look into hat if they are bent.
Take the forks to Aftershocks. You're going to spend a little bit more money, but you're better off than experimenting with the oil weight and spacers. Maybe they can tell you what type of forks they are too.
OK Lindemann did mine on my 89 10 years ago ... re valved and whatever ... I have sold the bike to a guy that lives not 3 miles away ... it does need seals. So soon I am going to split them apart and see what they did and post it here ... Amyway ... you want to do it now ... then go ahead when I post it ... maybe you can mod it.
Cool.
Srinath.
alright fook spacers. just going to put the 15w oil in getter running. Then see how it feels if it still is sucky, then I'll pony up the big bux for aftershocks. anyone in the east bay, palo alto is really far plus i don't have a car.

If you think they're bent, get them checked. You can't tell without the proper tools and equipment. It's not really safe to be riding on bent forks.
