http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v425/qlogic/NC2.jpg this is what it looked like new
i was going around a corner and man i was in a really good lean, and to my horror i missed the fine white sand that lay in my path, it was already too late, it started to slide and i kept it steady hoping to regrip the concrete soon, but the exhaust pipe caught the concrete and picked the bike tire off the ground, the bike spun off to the right side of the road and i got sling shoted to the left, ironically i had ordered my riding gear at a friends house and was on the way home, i came out with minor road rash on my right hand and legs, i broke off the right mirror scratched up the engine and exhaust and bent the handled bars and partially warped the right bar which makes the throttle stick.
i made it out alright, any aftermarket suggestions for new parts?
Take heed the warning to all Whom twist the grips of fate, lest the ground smite thee. GEAR IS GOOD!
glad you wernt hurt badly
Tons of options ... and that's just what we make.
Right side covers - wera90ex - search in the for sale section.
Handle bars - I make clip on's ...If you want the original kind ... look at bike master super bars or super bike bar or some like that.
Pipe ... wiley co dennis kirk scratch and dent on ebay ... and flange I make. You'd have to rejet ...
I am also planning case savers ... In case you try it again.
Cool.
Srinath.
yes i was very fortunate,
and yes, the pavement won today

do you have any pictures?
and thanks for all the advice
hmm right side cover seems pricey, is it fine if i leave it scratched up?
although this time it did grind it down a little
That allways puts a damper on your day .. lol glad you came out ok!
leave the case scratched up, put a new emblem on it if its destroyed.
I put TAG bars on mine when I layed it down, REALLY thick bars. If you want a sporty feel, i'd go with the clip ons srinath is building, if you like raised bars, dirt bike bars are the way to go. Aftermarket mirrors can be had for less than a stock one, even fancy Rizoma Billet mirrors that look real nice. The pipe you can buy a willeyco pipe that they have on EBAY if they still have em.. if its just scratched you dont need to replace it. I never replaced mine. If you usually ride full lean, I would only start by making it rideable, then work on estetics little by little when you get spare cash. If money is no option then you can change all the parts now to make it look new and go with good aftermarket stuff and maybe a paintjob if the fairings and blinkers are gone.
Glad you're allright.
Glad to hear your OK. I did the same thing to my yellow F. Always wear your gear.
I laid mine down on the left side. My right is fine. I replaced my mirrors with some from a 03 GSXR, bolt right on, shorter, and look alot sportier. If you need a right OEM mirror. Let me know.
Here is a pic of the GSXR mirrors

thanks shane, i think i may go for some of those gsxr mirrors they look so nice. also, may i inquire as to your 2 front turn signals? i did brake one of mine off in the corner
thanks,
Alex
My bike went down on the right side too. I fixed everything up. Bought some cheap 15 dollar mirrors from like motorcyclesuperstore.com and handlebars from the same place if I recall correctly. They're lower than stock, slightly. New grips from there too I think. Got some barends I liked at the local Cyclegear.
Check out my pics to see how I took it from twisted up to just plain twisted. Although I don't have crash pics. And that sounded pretty lame... :dunno:
