Title: Flanges are a go
Post by: The Buddha on March 23, 2005, 05:25:34 PM
Ok these are a go. I have numbers verbally committed. I guess now just buy a wileyco and send me your details (like address - choker etc) and $$ ...
Flange is $40 ... add shipping ($6-8)
Addess for check is Srinath seshadri, 9227 swallow tail lane, Charlotte NC 28269.
Paypal is Seshadri_srinath@hotmail.com - add $2 if paypal.
The Flanges will get started next week middle or end. till then you can add yourself to the list ... just buy wileyco before they sell out. They had like 20 at last check. I can make 20 if needed ... just dont want to make more ... cos once wiley co is sold out ... flanges are worthless ...
Wileyco link is here ...

Cool.
Srinath.

Ok, I'm gonna buy a Wileyco today, on Ebay.  Just wanna make sure I can still get the flange... and yeah, is the lead pipe welded to the flange??
Title: Flange
Post by: The Buddha on March 30, 2005, 08:26:58 AM
Flange has mid pipe welded to it ...  That's the current design ... Old (of whihc I made 3 and replaced all 3) was just the round part ... now its got like a foot+ of pipe and round plate, and restrictor if needed ... And yea flanges still available ...
Cool.
Srinath.

Ok, I want to get the carbon fiber Wileyco on Ebay (assuming it'll be a little lighter), which one should I buy the "Honda CBR900RR 96 to 97" or the "Suzuki GSX600R 1997 " ???

Post by: Thrin on March 30, 2005, 01:10:53 PM
Ok, could I put this flange on a "YOSHIMURA RS-3 RACE BOLT-ON EXHAUST" for a CBR900??  Or would that mess up the airflow?
Title: Air flow
Post by: The Buddha on March 30, 2005, 06:31:09 PM
Airflow isn't the issue ... fit is ... send me the gasket ... I'll make sure it fits ... or send me the can ...
Cool.

Do you think the Yoshi will sound better than the Carbon Wileyco?
Title: Maybe
Post by: The Buddha on March 30, 2005, 11:27:56 PM
I doubt it ... the wiley co has a deep and very non tinny sound ... its thick and heavy ... whihc is the reason its non tinny ... so make yourown guess ... or sompare sound bites from people ... hearing them ... agreed it was a good 8 months apart ... wiley co makes it more big bike like ... more monster than the yosh or V&H ... That Carbon D&D Jetswing sent me sounded great too ... but carbon has an inherent non metallic note ...
Cool.

Do you really want me send you the whole can?  I can order the RS-3 today and I'll ask them to ship it to your address... what do you think Srinath?  Its a Yoshimura RS-3 for a GSXR600 97-00 Bolt-on...
Title: Yea
Post by: The Buddha on March 31, 2005, 09:18:36 AM
Yea can is fine if you dont have gasket ... Srinath seshadri, 9227 swallow tail lane, Charlotte NC 28269. BTW send me the link off ebay too ... so I can tell you if its easy to fit ...
Cool.

Title: What
Post by: The Buddha on March 31, 2005, 09:58:31 AM
At $253 you can buy 5 wileyco's ... this isn't any better ... these are heavy too ... but I can flange this ... not a problem ...
Cool.
Srinath.

Well, I'm revamping my GS entirely, with the full body kit and I figure that since its a race exhaust, it's going to give me the closest sound of a race bike...
Title: Wileyco ...
Post by: The Buddha on March 31, 2005, 11:14:13 AM
So is a wileyco ... besides all the claims of extra 10 HP etc etc dont mean shaZam! ... cos they are fitting it on a GSXR whatever and comparing it to other pipes made for that GSXR ... we have no reason to believe any of this will do anyhting special to the GS ... If you must have Yosh ... go ahead ... The wileyco wont be any better/worse for performance really ... and noise who knows ... prolly the same for both ... The woley co is a sweet looking can ... and OH BTW Oval ... OK the flange is and has to be round ... its going to look a bit odd ... I can shave the outside ... but I cant match your curve I dont think Maybe a bit of grinding to get it close ... but still wont be sure ... so imagine it with that big round plate on it ...
Cool.
Sromath.

Hey Srinath, check out this Ebay link, will this slip on fit my GS??

Title: Most likely not
Post by: The Buddha on March 31, 2005, 04:06:14 PM
Not likely without making a Connector pipe ... bent and flared ... the pipe is a different dia ... my katana pipe was a good 1/2 inch larger ...
Cool.
Srinath.
