Post by: Frost on March 28, 2005, 04:55:53 PM
i finally finished my wileyco/pod filter/rejet projet

jet settings are 22.5/65/147.5...3.5 turns out

the pipe is so loud...i can set off ALL the car alarms in underground parking EASILY...

and it pulls much harder now...MUCH easier to warm up (it's ~5 degree C here)

but still a little delay in response...anyone know how to fix this?

Where in the rpm range is the delay, or is it right off the go?

The first thing you'll want to do is check your float levels.  If you have and they are good then it might be too rich/lean.  Does it pop when you lay off the throttle?  If not then it might be too rich.  Mine yawns a little at 6000 or so, and I have to just have to give it a little gas, and not ride with it directly at 6000.

Title: If I can be guru ...

Hey If I can be guru ... you can be expert ... heck you already are ... OK fine ... the savage is the first motor I am putting back together ... and learning a lot ... second motor to be taken apart ... but first to go back ... so working on it ... but dammit man its scary ... especially the modifying crap I am doing ... to preload the springs more .. I am thinking I'll cut the groove for the retainer closer to the head ... Just a case of blind leading the blind, deaf and  dumb I guess ...
Cool.
Srinath.

No shiznit, Srinath.  I am getting all my machine work back from the shop today and then I start rebuilding my motor.  I've been waiting on parts and machine work for two weeks.  Now the weather is getting nice. . .Learning a lot though.

I wish I could help you Frost.  But sounds like I need more help than you anyway!  Gook luck, canuck.
