Wait, that cop got suspended for 16 days, but the one who wouldn't respond to the 911 calls about a biker down only got off with only 15 days of suspension?? wtf!  :x

that's just funny to me.....if I was the cop....I'd be speculative too.....but why did he handcuff the guy??.....

MOTF:....they other officer will most likely suffer additional consequences....that story is national news....I saw the interview with the father and friend on the Today show.....I think 15 days is just a starting point....

Given that the cop has heard all the excuses before, I wonder if he would have 'cuffed a motorist. Certainly over here, from time to time there does seem to be a double standard. In a recent fly-on-the-wall T.V. documentry with a traffic cop he stopped  three cars and three bikes all for crossing the central double white line. Three car drivers got warnings, three bikers got tickets, to be fair one really had it coming and there is no way to tell what else happened on that day but it makes you wonder. It was in an area of south Yorkshire notorious for biker accidents but I would expect any "purge" to be applied evenly.

Was that documentary the one where a Lotus Elise was over the line and the cop didn't even stop it?

Might've been a different one(wouldn't doubt it with how biased the Yorks cops are toward bikes).

They've started a fast-track system so egregious offenders lose their licence immediately, and it specifically targets bikers. Funnily enough, something like 75% or more of the people who are fast-tracked are car drivers. I'll have to see if I can find a link to it.

As far as the original article--that's ridiculous.

Gofer, not at all sure about the vehicles involved but it was on the "Cat'n'Fiddle" road in South Yorkshire.

That depends.  Would you like your baby delivered by the psychiatrist?  Or the Orthopaedist?  In many smaller hospitals there is only one member of each specialty on call after hours, so he may have been the only Ob-Gyn available.  Of course, if it was a "normal" delivery he probably wouldn't have been needed at all.  Midwives are pretty good in their own right.

way i see it, doc didnt need to do what he did, but neither did the cop, someone at hosp, could have covered it, until he got there, someone at this hosp, should have been qualified to do this, just my opinion tho
:dunno:
