Title: Hey guys, need to get some stuff for my bike
Post by: Tyrant171 on April 02, 2005, 04:38:46 PM
I need to get:

Main jets (122.5)
Fuel filter

I need to get some other stuff, too, but I was just wondering if you guys could give me a few pointers on where to get these parts and what brand to buy. I'm really new to the whole scene, hoping you guys could help me out. Thanks!

If I remember correctly I got my main jets from Dennis Kirk. The only place I could find nonbleed pilots online was Bike Bandit. You also say you need a fuel filter. If its the one in the tank you'd have to buy the whole fuel chicken assembly-very expensive. But you usually only have to just clean it. If you want an inline filter just about any lawnmower fuel filter should work.

BTW, I highly recommend ronayers.com for genuine replacement parts. They always have the hard to find parts.

I just recently cleaned and rejetted the carbs and installed an inline fuel filter on my '00.  All parts purchased at BikeBandit.com.  Great site with excellent service.  (Main: 125, Pilot: 40, 3 turns out...runs great)

Hey Doug, how long did it take you to get your parts from BikeBandit once you ordered?

I think with ground shipping (UPS/FedEx...one of the two) I had the stuff in under a week.  In general they seem to have the parts ready to ship so shipping expedited (more $$$) should get them to ya quicker.

Mukini carbs = Mukini jets...made sense to me.  I believe you're looking for these (these are what I ordered and used):

MAINS:
Genuine Mikuni Large Round-Type Main Jets (KN100-604)

PILOT:
Mikuni Pilot Jets (KN151.067)

Why ... no one needs 122.5 ... stock bike = 125/40 ...
Cool.

Go to a Cycle Gear if there is one near you, look in the phone book, they can order pairs of both jets. Edit: Oops, I just looked, there isn't any Cycle Gear stores in Illinois, sorry.

Did you fix your idle problem here: http://gstwins.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17231&highlight= ?
I was going to suggest float height adjusted so that fuel level is at the top of the floatbowl.
