Title: Carb question
Post by: Ry_Guy on April 03, 2005, 10:38:02 AM
3 to 3 1/2 turns out on the idle screw?
I cleaned my carbs and tried to unscrew it all the way, but it just kept unscrewing past 6 turns and now I have no idea where to put it.

Ok, now I just tried starting her up and saw gas oozing out over both bowls. It also will only turn over once or twice before I hear a *tat-tat-tat*. The battery is fully charged  :dunno:   :guns:   :(   :guns:   :guns:

Things I have done:
  Float height check
  Spark check/ New plugs
  Charged battery
  Cleaned carbs
  New gas

And the basics...Choke, On/off button, kickstand, clutch, petcock, fuel filter. All the lights come on. I'm about to totally freak out.

Forgot to mention earlier symptoms: When it did run, it would stall whenever I pulled the clutch in and let off the gas.

OK that let the clutch pit and dies sounds like kick stand switch ...
And fuel screw ... it willscrew out all the way and will eventually fall out ... You screw in till the thing lightly seats then out 3 turns ...
Cool.

Sounds good, I'll check the kickstand switch. Also set the idle screw right.
But the gas overflowing over the carbs? Aren't the floats supposed to stop gas input once they reach a certain height?

Oh OK I thought you had the air screw out and the fuel was flowing out of that .. but yea set the floats to top of bowl ... if you cant ... then the seat O rings may be bad ... Napa has them ... Just match it and get it.
Cool.
