Title: Questions about a 2002 GS500
Post by: boomboom on April 03, 2005, 12:32:03 PM
Picking up the GS500 tomorrow, paid $1300 for it.  Great condition, but needs new tires.  Wondering if the size of the tires are the same as the 2005 (got the tire size off the 05).  Also if anyone has had any problems with theirs?  The bike has less then 5k miles on it.  I live in Vegas so it gets pretty hot here, and if you guys figured out ways to keep the bike from over heating as quickly.  Thanks for all your help.

yep the tire size is the same, and as long as you use oil in it and keep it full it will never overheat.

Thanks!  Any tire recommendations?  Actually looks like we are going with a 120 and 150 for the tires.  GSrider gave me a few suggestions (thanks!) but a few other opions never hurt.

congrats on your new bike!

Do a forum search using the word tires, with the user set to gsjack.  He's sort of the resident tire expert.  That search will give you more info than you can possibly need  :thumb:

Thanks for the help.  The bike is actuallly for my roommate who has been dying for a bike.  But such a great price we couldn't pass it up.
