I used the cut milk bottle to sorta hold and sediment the blasting medium and powder from the coating booth ... it let it settle tipped up and 20 mins later poured it back in the tank, when it dried ... I peeled off the kreem and it was on the entire bottle and it just behaves like a sheet of plastic ... Of course the inside of a milk bottle is so oily and slick nothing will stick to it ... but in that thin film it still retains shape and stayed as 1 item ... Its permanent when you want and non permanent when you dont ... pour in MEK and slosh it for 10 mins and its history ... This film works great in very thin coats and many many coats of it rather than 1 thick one ... and follow the steps especially 1 and 2 ... get all the rust out with acid, and get the acid out with water and baking soda ... and then get water out and then coat it ... cant miss ...
Cool.

Is that for the inside of a gas tank?  My buddy's re-doing a 1940's Farmall tractor and needs to do something about the rust in the tank.  I've never heard of that stuff so I'm just wondering... :dunno:

according to a Honda master mechanic i know, milkstone remover is the best stuff ever for treating rusted tanks.
you can get it at farm supply places.  it doesn't have the unfortunate tendency to peel and gunk up stuff as kreem occasionally does.

cheers,
will

Srinath, can you put a snip of that Kreem into a jar with some ethanol?  I'm wondering how well it will work in 170 proof ethanol.  Stolichnaya 180 would do fine :)  but rubbing alcohol might tell something .  It will probably get a little bit yellow or orange colored, and get soft.  If it dissolves, then it's no good for me.

Don't much care what the inside looks like as long as it won't rust.  How's the outside look?

Yep, E-85, 100-105 octane.  There's one shop here that's 20+ cents cheaper (and they have the cheapest gas too).  See http://www.gstwins.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7945&highlight=jetting+ethanol  for the rejetting thread.  My bike is definitely jetted different from stock: 57.14 pilots, 160 mains.  What I really need is a dyno with an O2 sensor, to get it dialed-in.

...then someday get domed pistons and take advantage of it!

Inside looks whiteish grey with dark powder in the white ... More of the white and you wont see if it gets a problem ... like rust ... OK OK should never ever rust ... but I wont get to the point to assuming that ... never is a really really long time ... Outside looks shiny black ... That part is perfect ... I will send it out as soon as its dry and non acetone smelly ... cos its very very combustible ... postal dudes smoking might light themselves up ...
Cool.
