just wanted to know what people thought insurance would be per month during the riding months for a 2001 gs500. I am 21 and have one pseeding ticket and 2 illegal left turns (by the way freakin campus bike cops).
depends a lot on where you live. I use Progressive for my '92, minimum liability and theft/loss only. I'm 29 and live in suburban MD. No moving violations.
Mine is like $130 a year.
Expect to pay less than $200 a year, but, like I said, it depends a lot on age, location, driving record, and type of coverage. You're gonna get a million different answers, none of which will be exactly what you're gonna pay.
Go to Markel Bikeline and you can put in the the stats of the bike and your stats and it will give you a quote.

Insurance on my 01 is 161 a year for lia and comp only. But that doens't tell you anything cause I am a 30 year old married guy with a clean record. Location is a big factor too.
Insurance is like restaurants: it's all about location, location, location. Here in NYC I pay ~$450 for liability, and it would be ~$950 (total) to add comprehensive (which includes theft). I'm 28, no moving violations.
I imagine it will be a lot cheaper in OH...
grrrr...
I was payin 45 monthly for full coverage on my 01 GS. Im 19 with a spotless driving record (save for a parking ticket or two, damn campus parking nazi's).
$120 a year, 23, Oregon... not too bad.
Yeah.... you guys are lucky.... I pay $1000/year on my '93. I'm 28, no traffic violations.... oh yeah, $850 of that is just liability (at the lowest level). Yay for Canadian insurance companies!!!!!

I'm 23 riding a '00 carrying liability only and pay about $400 a year with Nationwide. No moving violations or accidents that the insurance company knows about (good thing because the violations were doozies)
