Title: gas tank question
Post by: splatt on April 07, 2005, 01:13:53 PM
is the filler neck removable?  i'm assuming it is because it's got all those allen head bolts securing it.  i need to knock a dent out and am thinking that would be the easiest way into the tank.  has anybody tried this route?

not removable, 7 allen bolts on top, only 4 are real and they just hold the gas cap on.

i have a dent i am going to get out but i am going to go down to harbor freight and buy the dent remover welder thing. Its a gun that welds a nail type thing to the metal and then you pull it out with a pull hammer.  It comes with all the nail things the gun and the pull hammer. Its like a 100 dollars or somthing.   I was going to try and do that through the filler hole but it will be alot easier do to it with the welder.
