Title: How to remove choke cable?

I'm having difficulty removing the choke cable from the carb. Please help a mechanical retard.  :)

make sure the lever is all the way off first, hold spring and with needle noze pliers wiggle cable out of holder

which lever? The one on the handlebar? I never thought of loosening that. I'll try it- thanks!

The cable is held by a pin-looking thing. Do I just pull it out? How would I put it back in the pin?

you have to rotate the cable to get the pin end out, you'll see a slot cut out on the top of one side, this is where the cable will go through. Just did mine today, i have an 04 but imagine it would be the same. I had to rotate it up at the pin end and it slides right out, no problem.
