So i went to get a new battery for my GS yesterday. Take it home and put that brand new bad boy in my bike, put seat back on. im about ready to give my self a  for a job well done when i try to turn it on.
im like uhh :dunno: whats going on i have no power?
am i dumb enough not to put positive to positive and neg to neg? :?
so i pull it off and it is connected properly...
so now im like :dunno: and getting :x
i look carefully and it looks like its a battery you can fill up... im like no way i would buy a battery and they wouldnt even mention i needed to ADD the acid right?
so i take it to the local auto store to get tested real quick since the cycle shop is like 1/2 hour away. to my :o it has no acid!
call the guy at the cycle shop this morning and he is like o ya bring it on down we will fill it up :)
so lesson learned every battery does not come acid filled or even with a pack to fill it with. :thumb:
They usually ask if you want it wet or dry
LOL
Similar thing happened to me, but I didn't get that far. I didn't take it out of the box until I got home. Immediately I knew something was amiss. :? I went straight back to the dealearship for a filling. I am not sure who was more embarrassed, me for not looking at the shop or the parts guy who gave it to me for not filling (and charging) it for me!

it's not normal to stock battery acid in your home hazmat locker?
hazmat locker? pssht who needs that. i just put it in the pantry in the kitchen.
the pantry got full, and so did the linen closet so I got a locker
i like to keep mine in the fridge.
nothing like a tall glass of chilled acid in the morning to get your juices flowing.
....plus it makes a good solvent degreaser.
