Bike seemed to be running good as ever after hybernation.
Let my sister drive it and couldn't start it since.
She rode with the choke on (but that shouldn't matter?)
Got it started once and she was puttering and couching and woudln't respond to the throttle.
So I pulled the gas lines and started draining; it's only coming out the main line. Is that right?
The lines are clear, so when hooked up, the main and reserve is only filled to just below the petcock? is that right?
the petcock to the carb line only partial fills, and none of these change on prime. This isn't right, is it?
Other then that, there's gas in the floats, new batt., new plugs, new gas lines, carbs cleaned and rejetted last season. Only went 100 Km this spring before this occured
?????
Thanks for any help
Were the plugs new before or did you replace them after she rode. She could have fouled the plugs by running with the choke on. I had just put in new plugs and ran my bike not the gs but a honda cb900 about 3 times for maybe 20 minutes each time and then my bro rode it and he didnt know about the choke. So it fouled all four plugs and I had to get new. I would replace the plugs as they are probably the reason if they havent been changed after the choke was left on.
Wow thanks, (and I wasn't even going to mention the riding with choke)
I took one out (it was black), testing it and got a weak spark, put the old one back in its place. took the other one out, went to test it and the bike started! I didn't even know it could start with one plug in.
Ah well, got my old plugs in right now and she's working fine.
Thanks, I would have never though of that.
