Title: Man Stealers Suck (finally to my motorcycle buying rants)
Post by: TOMIMOTO on April 18, 2005, 02:03:11 PM
Well I walked into the dealer again today to check out the black CBR600RR I was going to buy tonight when I look down and see a little tag hanging off of a handle bar. It said $7,999.00!!!! I was like nu-uh these assholes just quoted me at $8,600.00 last night. So I got a lady that was near by and said, "is this real?" She goes, "yup we sell the RR's for $8,200.00 OTD." I got pissed and told her how they quoted me at 8-6 last night. She kind of had a shocked look on her face as if she weren't supposed to tell me the price of the bike. Then I told her I was trading in my GS. She was like, "oh cool, we really need some of these, the 05's havn't come in yet and people want them badly." I was like yah I know cuz i was pissed off. Well to make an even longer story short shes going to give me the RR at $8,200.00 OTD with my $4,000.00 Trade in. This is definately sweet now. I knew this place would try to rip me they have before. It's just a convenient place to go to since i can literally walk to it.

So here's the new official numbers:

OTD of CBR600RR: $8,200.00 OTD (not $8,600.00 OTD)
GS trade in: $4,000.00
Cash down: $1,500.00

So I'm putting less money down. Saving 400 more dollars and I'm only going to finance $2,700.00. Seems like a sweet deal to me. Much better than that crappy $8,600.00 bullshit they tried pulling on me.

I remember someone saying that they arent seeing 500F's in dealers it's because they have already sold out or havn't gotten the 05's yet. It's amazing how hott the F is. They want mine bad. If anyone else would want to trade up I would do it now. I mean come on. There giving me 4k for my F and giving me a 600RR for 8.2k. That's practically half of the price.

Well we'll have to see what kind of bullshit they pull with me tonight. This might not be the finally.

You hate the dealer but you are the kind of buyer that keeps them in business.

They were obviously ready to screw you without the lube last time you were there. Why would you go back and give them your money?

I don't mean to be ragging on you but I think I would take my money elsewhere.  :dunno:

At this point, I'd say, " You want the F so bad, then give me $4000 for it and I'll take the RR for the sticker price of $7,999 OTD.  Take it or leave it."  If they leave it, sell the F to the hot chick and get a used RR from the newspaper from a private seller.

ehh... we'll see what happens. I'm going to call another dealer right now and see what they can do for me.

The dealer should have made every effort to inform you about the price drop, if for no other reason than to sweeten the deal and make you more likely to buy.  But from what you're saying, the dealer just hoped you wouldn't notice... yeah, those guys aren't shady at all...

Personally, I'd gladly fork over another $250 somewhere else if it meant dealing with an honest seller--yes, it means that much to me.  If you think that it's worth helping keep that dealer in business to get a deal, go for it.  Honestly, though, I couldn't hold it against you, around here you'd have to twist some arms and break some legs to get that good a deal on that RR and trade-in on the GS.

BTW, the subject line makes me think someone's boyfriend got wooed away...

Yah they are lying big pieces of shaZam!. They had the wrong tag on it stating $7,999.00 instead of $8,999.00. So they tried going oh yah we're cutting you a break so they give me a new quote. $8,749.00. I go hey they gave me a flat rate quote yesterday of $8,600.00 and the lady told me she could sell it to me for $8,200.00. So they go back and get the $8,600.00 price back for me. I go "no she said $8,200.00 not the same $8,600.00 I had yesterday. So we got in a big yelling fight the salesman was cursing and yelling. Yah real professional.    My dad, "Screw this we're walking and we're never coming here again!!." Salesman," yah fine f%$king walk!!!" f%$king losers man. Now this was a group of three of them all bullshitting us and getting mad.

Everyone help me out here and spam the hell out of their email system and tell everyone you know not to go there. Their dishonest lying sacks of shaZam!. Here's the name and address.

Best Ford & Best Cycle Center
579 Amherst Street, Nashua, NH 03063
(603) 889-0161

Call them (**********EDIT*********) do as you will. These guys are untruthfull shady pieces of shaZam! sales people. I need to find a way to get back at there lying and unfairness.

Well tomorrow I have the day off of work and I'm going to go stop by 3 other Honda dealers in my area. Well the search is on again. Hopefull I'll find another good deal from a good truthful dealer. Ther will be more posts again in the near future.

Look, I really don't want you to take this the wrong way, but...

I wished I coulda been there.

Joking aside, you did the right thing.  It's completely dishonest how they juggled prices around on you and kept you guessing, you had every reason to walk out of there even before the shouting match began.  Complete :bs: on their part.  Now cool down, relax, and go arrange a private sale or find an honest dealer (they do exist).  Good luck.

yes, they should have NEVER cursed at or even yelled at you...that's was just totalyy unprofessional.

but before you get too mad and start mailing off pipe bombs, think! you should be feel fortunate that you didn't end up giving your business to those creeps. and you don't ahve to bring you baby to them ever again. also, check your fact. $8600 otd on a $9000 bike seems like a pretty good deal to me. check and see what you can get it for at other deals. they might actually were going you a ok deal...when i was looking for a bike, i went down to a local dealer with cash to pay for the whole bike. and they wouldn't even give me one dollar off (YES, $1). i was totally shocked by it. needless to say i never when back to that dealer agin.

just let it go...go get your bike at good dealer and have fun with your new bike!

Tom, sorry it didn't work out for you but I had a feeling ever since your first post about getting the 4 grand trade-in and the bike below MSRP that this wasn't going to happen. That said, I think you would have still gotten a deal at 86 otd. That is below MSRP, yes? And that is what you agreed to at the start, right? Now you find that if you pay cash (no trade) you can get the bike for 7999 + fees. I think the only thing they did wrong was when the "girl" you talked to said you could have it for 82 otd...if she was stating that they were giving you 4 grand for your bike. It's just a lesson learned in dealing with high dollar retail businesses. Not flaming you, not getting down on you, just saying...you had a written deal and you tried to get lower and they wouldn't do it; lesson learned.

Next thing. Be careful what you post on the internet, don't matter if it is a forum or E-Mail or what...telling people to send pipe bombs and hate mail can be legally construed as conspiracy to commit terror. You wouldn't want something coming back to haunt you...I mean, you never know, some crazy person may take you up on your offer, get caught and say "TOMIMOTO told me to do it". Just trying to watch your back dude. Love the little GS and this forum.

yea, about that stupid girl who told you the bike was $8200 otd, don't doesn't know shaZam!!

if you can find it at that price anywhere, i'll buy it for you! 05 600rr had just came out...there's no way they'll give you $1000 off the msrp AND give you 4 grand for your gs....? no way!

:nono:   TOMIMOTO was offered a very fair deal.  $400 off list price for the finest 600 supersport money can buy [Sport Rider] plus $200 above book on his trade-in.  He was warned not to expect a big discount on the new bike given such a fantastic offer.  The only mistake that dealership made was to advertise a rock-bottom price for CBR600RR floor model without adding the clause no trade.  They do not have to take a trade, period.

We wonder what happened to the hot chick upon whom TOMIMOTO was anxious to unload his used GS500 for $500 over book value the other day?   Someone better think twice before calling anybody else a  stealer.  :P

So some she-my mama stole your man while the dealership tried to rape you?!?!

In the immortal words of Lux Interior, "All women are bad."

Sorry babe.

Things will get better soon.

Yah now that you guys mention it it does seem like a good deal as it was. It's just they made me expect that I was getting it for less than they go and change their mind. This place has always screwed with us really badly. It is known as the worst Ford/Honda/Suzuki dealer in my area. My dad also believes that even though they quoted me at $8,600.00 that they will throw in some other kind of fee. He expected it to become $8,800.00 in the end. That's how messed up these guys are and they will do that.

Also I have gone to 2 dealers now and they both have quoted me 4k for my bike so now I know that is the general trade-in price I am going to get. Also I know that I'm looking to pay $8,500.00-$8,700.00 OTD for this bike. If I get the same deal from one of these 3 other dealers I'm visiting tomorrow than I'll scough it up. We just don't want to do business with these guys they are really bad. Especially after swearing and yelling at us they'll never see us set foot in their store again. We're actually probably going to report them to the business column in the newspaper. That might not help out their sales.

They tried pulling the same bullshit on us with a car. The guy promised 3k off in rebates then when my dad was about to sign he added 1k to the price. They are really messed up.

Well live and learn right? Now I know exactly what I want for my bike on a trade-in and I know exactly the ammount I want to spend on the bike OTD. Also I'll make my dad proud knowing that our money and business isn't going to that crooked crappy dealer.

Updates will be posted tomorrow 4/19/05

Hopefully I won't get too much bullshit and I'll have my new bike within this week.

Thanks for supporting/negatively supporting me guys. It's all good learning. Now I know later on in life I'll have you guys and my dad to thank for my buying knowledge.

I'm actually really having fun going through the hassles and learning the tricks of the trade. It can be stressful as times but the knowledge that comes with it is great. I'm also having lots of fun posting my every day troubles as you guys might have noticed. I'm glad you guys are here for me.

I love you guys. Awwwww......

I think I'm going to open up my own dealer that doesn't pay their employees on commision and has set prices on all it's vehicles. The competition is what rouines the new vehicle buying experience. I'll create a dealer with gradeA top service and it will be like a normal store. The price you see is the price you pay and it's not 1000 dollars over because of stupid MSRP and handling fees. Man if it were to be true I could kill all other dealers in my area. Anyone want to get in on this and open one up? I just don't know how we would get the millions of dollars to start it.

PS. I hope you guys like reading my long posts about my troubles. hehe

We had a cage dealership out here that tried this no dicker sales approach.  It was great while it lasted--which was about a year.  Apparently, to make money they need timid suckers to subsidize the hard bargainers. :(

Spamming and what not aside... I think a well written letter to Honda would shake things up at the dealer... I'm sure Honda wouldn't approve of their product's representation by the crew you've decribed...
