So just a question.
Now that I have installed the Progressive fork springs :thumb: I have noticed a slight scraping noise when the forks are depressed (and released). Is this normal? :dunno: Will it 'wear' away. Just thinking that the new springs may be somewhat rougher out of the box than the ones removed. There was no scraping with the OEM springs. Kinda worried about that. There is no binding - the forks seem to move well - but, as hoped, not as much travel as with the stock springs.
Any insights would be welcome. Leaving work now - will check back when I get home.
Thanks,
Dandy D
Good on ya for pitching those awful stock front springs. Those things are more useful on the choke cable than in the forks. My Race Techs took about 2,000 miles to stop their little squeaks going over hard bumps (much preferable to bottoming, I say). I wouldn't worry too much as long as it isn't too loud or it doesn't sound like anything's loose in there. Others may differ from me on this one... :dunno:
Thanks for that Gleanerizer. Already my stress level is coming back to about 3000rpm
Hope others feel the same way you do. We'll see tonight how the new front end works. Getting a little snack then out da door.....beautiful evening here. Can't waste it. :)

The progressives can be installed either end first. Although putting them in one way is noisier than the other,(squeeks, pings, etc.) It meantions this in the installation instructions. It's fine. You can try inverting them if it gets too annoying, but theres no need to fear. Be sure you adjusted your fluid, they displace more than the stick springs. If you didn't, your ride might just be a bit stiffer.
