Ok I would like to say thanks to starwalt for the knowledge he passed along earlier in the day. Now the project I attempted on my GS500F '04 was to get rid of my short stalks that i have on my fender eliminator and to create my very own intergrated brake/signal tail lamp. Honestly the reasons were to clean the look of the rear end of my bike, plus someone was complaining that it was hard to see my blinkers on bright sunny days, which is about the only time i ride.
I should have pics up tomorrow sometime hopefully, if not probably the next day. Ill try to take them later in the day because I got clear taillights so it might be harder to notice the look during the day.
I also did experimented I am able to run the signals and the tail lamp blinkers at the same time giving it a nice look as well.
The how to as I promised...
First you will need a relay. Or a trailer hitch coverter. I perfer the trailer hitch coverter for this project.
You need to locate all wire that you will be needing to tap into.
-You will need to tap into the Right and Left signal wires
-Also power wire for the brake light which is located at the cluster(Right side of your tail)
Wire colors and what they do.
Left signal
Black +
Black/White -
Right signal
Light Green +
Black/white -
Brake Cluster
Brown (power)
Black/white -
White/black +
On the trailer hitch coverter there should be 3 wires on the input side and 2 wires on the output side
Left side (input) tap into the + left signal wire(black)
Right side (input) tap into the + right signal wire(light green)
Brake wire(input) *usually red* tap into the power brake wire (brown)
Now this part of the project room becomes a lil bit of an issue. You will have to locate the White/Black wire which comes off the back side of the tail light bulbs. They have one White/black wire located on the left side of the taillamp back side and one on the right side. Now for whatever reason they are crimped into one connect. You will have to cut them part, leaving you one wire on the left and one on the right, which are seperate now.
Now you will connect the White/black wires you just seperated to the output wires on your trailer hitch converter. Remember left side(input) goes to left side(output) and right side(input) goes to right side(output).
*if you don't seperate them both sides of the tail lamp will blink instead of one side.*
Test it all to see if it works well. If so tape over the areas you cut/spliced or solider the connections and cover them.
Go outside and enjoy your cool mod.
The end.
If you got any questions just PM me.
I know you said they're coming, but I will give the obligatory...
"PICS!"

If I could just find a way to eliminate black tape....
Good write up! Now where are the pics?
Man, I am dying to see this installation. If this looks as good as I am thinking it will, I'll need to consider doing the mod on my '05.
